Yashasvi Jaiswal Biography
Yashasvi Jaiswal is an Indian Cricketer who plays for Mumbai domestically and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Coming from a very humble background Jaiswal fought his way to the top with sheer talent and resolution. Born on 28 December 2001 in Suriyawan, Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh his passion for cricket saw him almost living in tents in Mumbai for almost three years.
He used to do low-end work for livelihood and stroll grounds to the ground in search of opportunities to play cricket. His cricketing talent was spotted by a cricket academy in Mumbai run by Jwala Singh from where his career path got fixed. After scoring 319 not out and taking 13/99 in a Giles Shield match in 2015 he first came into the limelight.
In 2016, he was drafted into the Mumbai U-16 team. In 2019 he also grabbed the attention becoming the youngest cricketer to score a double century in a Vijay Hazare Trophy game, when he scored 203 off 154 balls for Mumbai against Jharkhand. After such a couple of sublime domestic performances, he was included in the India Under-19 team ahead of the 2020 U-19 World Cup. His inclusion into the Indian side proved to be a game-changer for him.
Jaiswal experienced a starry Under-19 World Cup held in 2020 where he was awarded the man of the tournament. He scored more than 400 runs in the tournament. A left-handed batsman, who can also bowl leg-spin on a part-time basis now, looks to be another find of the IPL. Rajasthan Royals purchased him for Rs. 2.4 crore in IPL auction 2020. He saw game time limited in the first season. However, a season later he got promoted as an opener. Rajasthan retained him for the 2022 IPL.
